Jonathan Bocca
Jonathan Bocca is a young designer from Lucca represented by the UMANO Gallery.
He graduated from the IED in Florence, and he attended the University of the Arts London (UAL). He also gained experience at Fabrica in Treviso.
Being from Lucca, a city renowned for its paper mills, Jonathan began his design career by creating furniture made from recycled paper, using scraps from these factories. The concepts of sustainability and recycling are always present in his work.
His pieces often take on monstrous or animal-like shapes, inspired by his dreams. The colors are vibrant, and his works are usually coated with resin to make the paper durable over time.
The magazine AD Italia has included him among the emerging design talents of this year.
