Camaleonda Sofà
Mario Bellini, 1970s
The Camaleonda Sofa, designed by Mario Bellini in 1970, embodies an idea of seating conceived not as a fixed object, but as a fluid and evolving landscape. Its modular composition allows the individual elements to be freely combined, separated, and reconfigured, creating ever-changing spatial relationships.
The deep, generous forms of the upholstery invite the body to inhabit the sofa rather than simply sit on it, transforming it into a space of encounter, intimacy, and conviviality. At once sculptural and functional, the Camaleonda dissolves the boundaries between furniture and environment, becoming an expression of movement, adaptability, and freedom.
